Ph.D. in Management with a specialization in marketing and consumer behavior from Nova SBE, MS in textile marketing from Thomas Jefferson/ Philadelphia University, and a BS (Hons) in textile technology from De Montfort University, UK.
Vera Herédia Colaço serves as an Assistant Professor (Adjunct) at Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics, Universidade Católica Portuguesa, both in graduate and undergraduate courses. She is also a researcher from Católica Lisbon’s Business and Economics Research Unit
(CUBE). Her main research interests are on sustainable consumption, ethical decision-making, and purpose-driven business and consumption. Vera has published her research in such journals as the Journal of Business Ethics and the International Journal of Hospitality Management.
Prior to joining the academia, Vera worked for the textiles & apparel industry and has a solid international experience working with brands and start-ups such as, Timberland, the Benetton Group, the Trade Commission of Portugal in NYC and more recently, Manifesto Moda, a start-up company that develops health-related protective clothing solutions aiming to prevent diseases like Malaria, Zika and Dengue.
Vera is also a frequent presenter at academic and business conferences and has a strong experience in establishing university-industry relations with such companies such as Aga Khan Foundation, Fundação Oceano Azul, McDonald’s, National Geographic, Starbucks.
