Holds an undergraduate degree in Theology from Universidade Católica Portuguesa (Porto) and a master degree in Communication Sciences from the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (Lisbon). Vice-President of the Management Board of Radio Renascença and President of the "Irmandade dos Clérigos". Was Vice-Rector of the Santa Rita Diocesan Sanctuary, Director of the Department of Cultural Activities of the "Misericórdia do Porto", Chaplain of the "Santa Casa da Misericórdia do Porto", "Vigário Geral" of the Porto Diocese, Administrator and Member of the Editorial Board of the "Church Portucalense" and Director of the Information Office of the Porto Diocese and Head of the Episcopal Office.
