The Strategy, Entrepreneurship and Innovation research area is one of the most dynamic and productive groups at CATÓLICA-LISBON. These researchers focus on topics such as the relationship between strategy and value creation, the impact of entrepreneurship - both in firms and in the social environment -, or the relationships that are built between institutions, strategy and entrepreneurship.
Since 2013, researchers in this group have authored over 50 scientific papers in international peer-reviewed journals. Their work has been published in top journals like the Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science or Management Science. Their high-quality research has received prestigious awards and recognition from organizations like the Academy of Management.
CATÓLICA-LISBON researchers in this field also participate in the academic community by holding editorial positions in journals such as the Journal of Management Studies, the Journal of Business Venturing and the Strategic Management Journal. Ilídio Barreto is a member of the Editorial Review Board of the Academy of Management Journal.
Members of this group are also associated with several of CATÓLICA-LISBON’s Knowledge Centers. For instance, the Smart City Innovation Lab, investigates how technology and digital transformation can contribute to wellbeing in urban areas. The Center for Technological Innovation & Entrepreneurship funds research and is also an active player in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Patient Innovation is another example of a significant platform which was started in CATÓLICA-LISBON and has received international accolades.
