Accommodation

Due to the very high popularity of Lisbon as a destination, it can become extremely difficult to find accommodation in the capital of Portugal, reason why accommodation is included – by default and unless otherwise requested – in CATÓLICA-LISBON Summer Academy program for the entire duration of your program, for 2 full weeks, from July 3rd to July 17th, 2022.

Check-in date: on Sunday, July 3rd, 2022

Check-out date: either on Saturday, July 16th, or on Sunday, July 17th, 2022.

The accommodation we provide consists in a high standard apartment (min. 15m²) with private bathroom and kitchenette in a student residence located in the heart of Lisbon, which will guarantee easy and quick access to our School, monuments, museums, bars and restaurants, nightlife, etc.

IMPORTANT: Damage and breakage cost (up to €250), if and only if you happen to damage or break something in your apartment or at the student residence.

If you decide to opt for the formula without accommodation, please note that you will be entirely responsible for finding accommodation on your own.

Visa & Insurance

To find out if you need a visa to enter Portugal, please visit the following link to the website of the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

If an Acceptance Letter is required by the Portuguese Consulate or Embassy of your home country, please contact us and we will provide you with this document.

As CATÓLICA-LISBON Summer Academy is a short-term program, participants may apply for a Schengen Visa, i.e., a short-stay visa that allows a person to travel to any members of the Schengen Area, per stays up to 90 days for tourism or study purposes.

The Schengen Visa is the most common visa for Europe. It enables its holder to enter, freely travel within, and leave the Schengen zone from any of the Schengen member countries. There are no border controls within the Schengen Zone.

To find out more about the Schengen Visa, please visit the following link:

Please note that it is participants’ sole responsibility to find out if they need or not a visa and to apply for and obtain the right visa (if applicable) in a timely manner. Rejection of visa application or late visa delivery are not eligible for refund.

Each participant must have a personal accident and health insurance, including international emergency medical services.

We highly recommend that you also contract a travel insurance. Please note that, in the case of program cancellation, our School cannot be held responsible for any travel, visa and/or accommodation expenses that prospective participants may have paid for before or after program cancellation.

Please make sure that you bring your insurance policy papers with you and that you send us by e-mail a scanned copy of these documents before your arrival.
