Archeofactu represents a commercial company that appeared in the late 90's of the last century, whose activity revolves around the CULTURAL HERITAGE, something that, according to some authors, corresponds to the remains that we leave to the following generations (Paul Valéry); others say that it is a consensual universe of things from the past (Paulo Pereira); and still others will say other things...
However, Portuguese law states that the CULTURAL HERITAGE includes all those assets that, being testimonies of value to civilization or culture, and therefore of relevant cultural interest, should be the object of special protection and enhancement. This relevant cultural interest reflects values of memory, antiquity, authenticity, originality, rarity, singularity or exemplarity.
ARCHEOFACTU focuses fundamentally on the following specific domains.
- INTERVENTION Conservation and Restoration
(archaeological goods, ethnographic goods, goldsmithery, sculpture, technical and scientific instruments, furniture, graphic documents, metals, ceramics, stony material (built heritage), numismatics, sites, utensils, etc.)
- PREVENTION Preventive Conservation
(evaluation of conservation status, determination of intervention priorities, environmental monitoring studies, identification and quantification of pollutants, exposure, storage and conditioning of cultural assets, support for archaeological excavations)
- RESEARCH Training and Research
(scientific research projects, professional training courses, vocational and higher education)
- (RE)CREATION
(production of replicas of cultural goods, with museological or educational character, conception of jewelry objects, or of other nature, inspired in cultural heritage of material or immaterial value)
