Patient Innovation SOS Refugees

Patient Innovation

The PPL Crowdfunding together with the Patient Innovation platform launched the "Patient Innovation SOS Refugees", an initiative which aims to raise funds to purchase essential goods (blankets, warm and waterproof clothing, food, etc.) to support the refugees who come to Tabanovce (Macedonia), close to the border with Serbia, coming from the border with Greece.

This crowdfunding action aims collect a minimum of 3,000 euros up to 25 October, which will revert entirely to the refugees. If the raised value exceeds the minimum amount, all the surplus will also be used for the purchase of goods considered essential for supporting the refugees.

All logistical expenses (travel, accommodation, crowdfunding campaign, etc.) related to the "Patient Innovation SOS Refugees" will be ensured by the promoters of the initiative. Among them is Leid Zejnilovic, researcher at the CATÓLICA-LISBON, and Pedro Oliveira, Associate Professor at CATÓLICA-LISBON and founder of Patient Innovation platform.

Pedro Oliveira and Leid Zejnilovic will shortly to Macedonia to locally acquire the goods collected in this campaign and deliver them directly to people in need or local associations, who they already collaborate.

This is the 2nd time that Professor Pedro Oliveira travels to Macedonia. In September he had already been in Tabanovce as a volunteer to help refugees.
