The Organizational Behavior & Human Resources Management group at CATÓLICA-LISBON has been at the forefront of new science being done in the social and organizational psychology and sociology.
The group is made up of researchers whose work spans from teams and organizational justice all the way to cultural psychology. In the past five years, researchers associated with this group have been the authors of more than 25 scientific articles in top publications.
Their work has been published in such renowned scientific journals as the Academy of Management Journal, the Journal of Applied Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, the Journal of Business Ethics, the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology or the Journal of Organizational Behavior. Their work has received awards from the Proceedings of the Academy of Management.
Members of this group also take seriously their roles in serving the scientific community, having worked as reviewers and editorial board members of some of the most important journals in management and psychology. David Patient retired in 2019 from his position on the Board of Governors of the Academy of Management, having previously started an International Committee for its Organizational Behavior division.
Organizational Behavior & Human Resources Management researchers at CATÓLICA-LISBON also prioritize teaching and knowledge dissemination to the general public. Not only are they teachers in every programme at CATÓLICA-LISBON, they also teach at the law and psychology schools of Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
As executive education teachers, these researchers have taught clients that include Websummit, Bank of Portugal, Accenture, Gulbenkian Foundation, and Santander, among others. Their articles have also been publicized to the general public through articles on such outlets as The Atlantic, the New York Times, Le Monde or the Harvard Business Review.
